Our keynote speaker is Kathleen R. Stevens,
EdD, MS, RN, ANEF, FAAN who will present Paving the Future of Nursing
and Healthcare through Improvement Science. Dr. Stevens is a Professor of
Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and
Director of the Improvement Science Network. She served as founding director of
ACE-Center for Advancing Clinical Excellence 2000-2015, leading
interprofessional efforts to advance evidence-based quality improvement and
patient safety. Her federally funded activities emphasize healthcare
transformation through scholarly work in the national Improvement Science
Research Network, AHRQ Health Care Innovations Exchange, Institute of
Medicine's report Preventing Medication Errors, and team performance
improvement. Her achievements have been recognized with many honors including
the Sigma Theta Episteme Laureate Award and induction into the International
Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.
