The Fisch Art of Medicine Awards and the John Song Awards are awarded to medical students at the University of Minnesota Medical School and are funded by the Center for the Art of Medicine.
The Fisch Art of Medicine Awards are given in honor of Dr. Robert Fisch--a pediatrician, graphic artist and writer, and holocaust survivor--and provide funding for students to to explore the arts and humanities in ways that are not typically emphasized in a conventional medical school curriculum.
The John Song Awards are given in honor of Dr. John Song--an internist and bioethicist who was passionate about the arts role in keeping humanity at the center of medicine--and provide funding for projects that meld scholarship and community building with the arts.
