Seminar Title: "Medication Utilization in Weight Management"
Speaker: Dr. Lauren Bloch, PharmD, BCACP, Medication Therapy Management Pharmacist at mHealth Fairview Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic
Speaker Bio: Dr. Lauren Bloch is a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) pharmacist currently practicing at the M Health Comprehensive Weight Management Center in Minneapolis. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2017 and went on to complete a PGY1 Ambulatory Care Residency through the University of Minnesota/Fairview thereafter. After residency, Lauren stayed with M Health Fairview and started an MTM practice at her current clinic. Lauren’s care philosophy combines her passions of working in a collaborative environment to help patients reach their health goals and obesity medicine. .
Objectives: Following the presentation, the attendees should be able to:
- Identify who qualifies for weight loss pharmacotherapy
- Understand how to approach pharmacotherapy selection
- Have an appreciation for pipeline/upcoming medications for weight loss
