What did I do?
I designed an online civic engagement tool and conducted usability testing on the site. With the study's findings, I made improvements to the website's usability.
What did I learn?
Designing with empathy is a win-win for designers and users. With the accessible design, users trust the artifact, and developers gain more attention for more opportunities to communicate to the audience.
What do you hope audiences take away?
I hope audiences see a need for better political engagement locally. Online tools can help with civic engagement, especially ones designed with excellent usability and a focus on accessibility.
What do you hope audiences ask you?
How did I develop the Local Vote Reminder site, and what tools did I use to get the site up and running? I hope audiences will want to know if the prototype works. Also, I hope people ask about how the reminder tool works behind the scenes; would the site need staff and budget to keep the reminder site active?
