John Watkins on "Literature & the Plague"

Professor of English John Watkins, creator of the English course "The End of the World in Literature and History," talks about parallels between our current moment and the "plague years" of novelists such as Defoe and Camus. Watkins is the author of four books, most recently After Lavinia: A Literary History of Premodern Marriage Diplomacy. Presented by the Department of English through its Literature in a Time of Crisis series in summer 2020.
